Who is JP
I'm JP Pirinen, a comedy magician from Kymenlaakso. I stumbled over the same stones as many readers of this page, and slowly learned my way out of them, and that's why I now coach alongside my stage work.

Who JP is
I'm JP Pirinen, 46, from the Kymi region. I've spent most of my adult life working on stage: over twenty years as a comedy magician, at children's parties, corporate events and summer markets. Balloons and card tricks are still part of my work.
The stage taught me two things that are surprisingly useful now: timing, and the fact that it pays to talk to a person like a person.
Today, alongside the stage, I coach adults who want to understand their relationship with food, including people whose starting point involves type 2 diabetes or prediabetes.
I'm not a doctor or a nutritional therapist, and I don't claim to be. Coaching does not replace healthcare. My role is to help people examine food choices, habits and everyday life without blame.
Why I do this work
My father had a health emergency in hospital, right in front of my eyes. I was led out of the room, and that same evening I was on stage entertaining an audience of hundreds. It went well, because I know how to put hard things aside for the duration of a job. On the way home, they came back.
That's when I understood two things. First: no one had ever explained to me why I eat the way I eat. Second: I'd been told I didn't need to change anything, and that felt like a relief.
I do this work because I recognise that relief. It's familiar to many people who sit in an appointment and hear that it's being taken care of.
I don't tell anyone to do anything differently. I just tell you what I myself was left wanting back then: an explanation. Understanding first, rules only much later.
A Finnish alternative to diet programs
The coaching is based on the international WILDFIT method. My role is to help people work with it in Finnish everyday life: rye bread, the work canteen, the summer cottage and dark November. Coaching support and group discussions are available in Finnish.
The same goes for tone. There is no shouting and no promising miracles. We talk the way adults talk to each other, and we laugh when something is funny.
Where you live does not matter. Coaching takes place online, and the program pages explain what each option includes.
The method I use
Curiosity is central to my coaching: why you eat the way you do, what shapes your choices, and which habits fit your everyday life. Food is not treated as a moral test, and one choice is not labelled a success or failure.
The aim is not to teach one food rule for everyone. It is to help you notice your own habits, experiences of hunger and the situations in which food choices happen. The program pages explain the detailed content of each option.
What I don't promise
I don't promise kilos. I don't promise a timeline. I don't claim this suits everyone, because it doesn't.
I don't give medical advice, and I don't take a position on anyone's medication. Decisions about medication belong to your own doctor and are made with them, not here. The coaching isn't treatment and doesn't replace treatment. It's learning your relationship with food alongside treatment.
I also don't promise this will be easy. Life hurts and life happens, even during the coaching.
What I do promise is this: I won't make you feel guilty about your food choices. I won't talk about willpower, because it wasn't my problem either. And if this isn't for you, I'll tell you so straight rather than sell you something that won't help.

You don't have to decide anything today. You can read at your own pace about how the course and starting path work in practice, and come back to it when it feels right.
If you want to talk, the first step is a discovery call. It lasts about half an hour. There's no script and no sales pitch, and it exists for you. I ask more than I state. You can ask anything, including whether this makes sense for you right now or not.
There's no wrong door. If the answer is no, or not yet, that's a perfectly valid outcome of the call too, and it leaves you with no obligation to continue.
Small insights, big change. That's what this is about.
