The add-first substitution guide.

No restriction, no willpower contest. The same pacing behind WILDERBODY®, applied to the food swaps you can start today.

Add before you remove.

Most diets fail the same way: they ask you to take something away first, and the shock-and-restriction pattern makes willpower run out fast. WILDERBODY® starts the other direction — a foundation stage that begins by adding good things before anything is ever taken away, one achievable shift at a time (“boiling frog” pacing, not a shock diet).

That same idea works on its own, outside the full program: before you try to remove a food, add something first — a food, a habit, or a few extra minutes — and let the removal follow naturally once the addition is established. No food weighing. No calorie counting.

Know what you’re actually hungry for

Six kinds of hunger, six different moves.

Not every craving is the same craving. The Eater Type Quiz’s six-hunger breakdown is the same one used here — match what you’re feeling to the hunger, then try the move next to it before reaching for the substitution.

Nutritional Hunger

a real signal that your body wants a specific nutrient — worth eating for, though a craving for a specific brand or treat like a cookie is usually emotional hunger instead.

Thirst in disguise

dehydration showing up as a false hunger signal, since a lot of our water normally comes from food — worth drinking throughout the day and keeping water nearby.

Craving for Variety

a pull toward something different after eating the same things for a while — though the food industry also uses flavor enhancements to make near-identical foods feel different.

Low Blood Sugar

a fast, urgent hunger that often follows a sugar spike and crash, a sign the body isn't yet metabolically flexible and is relying mostly on sugar as fuel.

Emotional Hunger

a craving triggered by a feeling rather than an empty stomach — it often teams up with thirst or nutritional hunger, so meeting the emotional need directly first can help.

Empty Stomach Signal

a stretch-driven urge to eat that isn't always true hunger — the stomach naturally expands and contracts, and letting it sit empty now and then is healthy.
